Singapore unveils $200m Talent Accelerator Programme

Industry calls for companies and professionals to apply will open in the first quarter of 2026.

Singapore has launched a new $200m, three-year Talent Accelerator Programme (TAP) to develop local film and television talent and strengthen the country’s position as a co-production hub.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) said the programme aims to help “Made-with-Singapore” content stay competitive amid audience fragmentation and shifts driven by AI-enabled production.

TAP is designed to support creators and companies across the full value chain, from early development to international distribution.

The programme provides three structured pathways. In development, participants will receive matchmaking support with commissioners, access to mentorships and masterclasses on story, pitching and dealmaking, and guidance on financing, distribution planning, and IP ownership.

In production, TAP will co-fund regional and global co-productions, both scripted and unscripted, as well as screen adaptations of existing IPs to help anchor Singapore as a co-production hub.

For distribution and marketing, IMDA will offer an in-house marketing team and a dedicated marketing fund to raise the visibility of selected projects overseas.

Industry calls for companies and professionals to apply will open in the first quarter of 2026.

IMDA said the programme builds on recent partnerships with global streamers, including Warner Bros. Discovery, to bring Singapore stories to international audiences.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
