Alipay+ enables usage of 6 international e-wallets in Singapore

Its merchants can now accept payments from up to 12 overseas e-wallets.

Alipay+ has enabled 6 international e-wallets to be used in Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).

Starting 5 February, RWS now also accepts payments from Hipay (Mongolia), MPay (Macao), MyPB by Public Bank (Malaysia), Toss Pay and Naver Pay (South Korea), and Tinaba (Italy).

With this, Alipay+ said that it is now enabling its Singapore merchants to accept 12 international e-wallets.

The expansion comes as the Lion City’s tourism sector is expected to grow in 2024. Visitor arrivals in the first 11 months of 2023 were already double that of the same period in 2022, according to data from the Singapore Tourism Board. Tourists from mainland China, Malaysia, Philippines and South Korea are amongst the top 10 in visitor arrivals.

The visa-free policy between Singapore and China, which stars on 9 February, is expected to facilitate greater ease of entry for Chinese tourists and further support tourism in the city.
