Keppel-led consortium tapped for next phase of Jurong Island low-carbon ammonia project

A FEED study will be conducted for an ammonia power plant.

A Keppel Ltd.-led consortium has been appointed to conduct the next phase of the project to develop a low-carbon ammonia solution on Jurong Island, Singapore for power generation and bunkering.

In a statement, Keppel said the appointment follows Energy Market Authority (EMA) and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) Request for Proposal (RFP) process. In this stage, Keppel and its consortium partners, Sumitomo Corporation, and Advario, conducted a comprehensive preliminary front-end engineering and design (pre-FEED) study.

They will now conduct a FEED study across the entire value chain, for a 55 megawatt (MW) to 65 MW ammonia power plant, terminal infrastructure and bunkering solutions, laying the foundations for a potential Final Investment Decision.

The company does not expect this development to have any material impact on its net tangible asset per share or earnings per share for the current financial year.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
