NTU and Activate Global launch $12m deep-tech fellowship

Over the next three years, the program will support up to 20 fellows and 20 co-fellows.

NTU Singapore and Activate Global have launched a $12m fellowship program aimed at accelerating science-based entrepreneurship and building deep-tech startups in Singapore.

The program, funded by the National Research Foundation and supported by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), will be hosted by NTU. EnterpriseSG will also offer participants access to funding and ecosystem networks.

Over the next three years, the program will support up to 20 fellows and 20 co-fellows, with applications for the first cohort opening in November 2025.

It is open to Singapore-based scientists and engineers with early-stage innovations in advanced materials, robotics, AI, biotechnology, life sciences, and other deep-tech fields.

The one-year program will provide a cash allowance, funding for business growth, structured mentorship, workshops, and two U.S. immersion visits.

Participants will also showcase their ventures at a founders day event to connect with investors and industry stakeholders. Fellows may nominate a scientific co-founder to join as a co-fellow.

A working committee comprising representatives from NUS, SMU, SUTD, and A*STAR will help guide the fellowship and support its integration into Singapore’s broader innovation ecosystem.
