Singtel’s Nxera secures $643m green loan for DC Tuas data centre
DC Tuas is set to be operational in 2026.
Singtel’s data centre arm, Nxera DCT Pte Ltd., has obtained a $643m five-year green loan to develop its 58MW DC Tuas data centre.
The loan is financed by DBS, OCBC, Standard Chartered, HSBC, and UOB, who also serve as green loan coordinators.
DC Tuas, set to be operational in 2026, will be Singapore’s most hyper-connected green data centre with high power density, a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.25, and next-generation cooling systems capable of supporting AI workloads above 30kW per rack.
The facility has already earned the Green Mark Platinum certification.
Arthur Lang, Singtel Group CFO, said the centre will “support Singapore’s digital economy whilst reducing our carbon footprint” and reflects Nxera’s goal to reach scope 1 and 2 net-zero emissions by 2028.
The loan is part of Singtel’s Olives sustainable financing programme.
In December 2023, the Group secured a $535m green loan for DC West and DC Kim Chuan.
