ST Engineering opens new engine MRO facility

Annual maintenance capacity will exceed 300 engines by 2027.

ST Engineering has officially opened a new engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Singapore.

The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.

The new facility, located at ST Engineering’s Paya Lebar aerospace compound, will double annual maintenance capacity for CFM56 and LEAP engines to over 300 engines by 2027.

Combined with ST Engineering’s engine MRO facility in Xiamen, China, total planned capacity across both locations will exceed 400 engine shop visits annually.

Alongside the increased capacity, ST Engineering will broaden its services to include performance restoration and full overhaul shop visits for both LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines.

The expansion will create over 300 jobs and incorporates AI-enabled hardware sorters and automated cleaning systems to boost efficiency.

ST Engineering was the first MRO provider in Asia designated as a Premier MRO provider in CFM International’s LEAP open MRO ecosystem in 2023.

The company also provides airframe and component solutions globally, supported by 50 years of experience and teams across Asia Pacific, the U.S., and Europe.
