URA, SPF open tender for new driving centre at Lorong Bistari
The new centre will replace the Bukit Batok Driving Centre.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) have launched a public tender for a site at Lorong Bistari to build a next-generation driving centre (NGDC) for all vehicle classes.
The new centre will replace the Bukit Batok Driving Centre, which will close by December 2030 to make way for residential redevelopment. The site allows up to 72,500 sqm of driving circuits and related facilities.
The NGDC aims to provide advanced and comprehensive training facilities to meet the growing demand for driving licences.
It will feature a multi-storey design to optimise land use while offering extensive training facilities, simulator technology for safe yet realistic driver training and testing, and intelligent driving circuits equipped with advanced sensors and real-time monitoring to assess learner proficiency and standardise motorist education.
The centre will also include training and testing capabilities for Class 4 and 5 licences, complementing the existing Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC) for heavy vehicles, as well as separate circuits for training and testing to streamline operations.
Located near Yew Tee MRT station and bus stops, the centre will serve drivers in Singapore’s West region, complementing existing centres in the North and East.
Tender closes 15 January 2026 at 12pm.
