10-month private condominium resale volume beats 2016 total

Resale volume jumped 122% to 1,461 units.

The resale volume of private condominiums surged by 122% YoY from 658 units in 2016 to 1,461 units in 2017, the Singapore Real Exchange (SRX) revealed.

According to flash data, the private resale non-landed volume for the first 10 months of the year is also 46% higher than the entire 2016.

"Total volume this year is expected to be about 65% higher than last year," SRX said.

Meanwhile, the prices of private condominium resales jumped by 6.3% YoY in October. In individual sectors, Central Core Region (CCR), Rest of Central Region (RCR), and Outside Central Region (OCR) recorded price hikes of 6.4%, 7.5%, and 5.5%, respectively.

However, the prices were still down by 2.9% from the peak in January 2014.

Meanwhile, the price index value of RCR prices reached a new peak at 184.6. The last highest value was recorded in 2013.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
