Chart of the Day: Private Residential Price Index soars high in 1Q12

Prices of residential homes have gone up more than 80% in the 1Q2012 since it reached bottom in 1Q09.

Compared to the quarter before however, URA's flash estimate of the private residential property price index for the 1Q12 indicates that overall private residential property prices have by a marginal 0.1% to 206 from 206.2. This is the first price decline since 2nd Quarter 2009 and follows the trend of stabilising prices over the past 9 consecutive quarters.
