Chart of the Day: Which developers have the highest number of unsold units?

Empty ECs are key culprits.

This chart from Maybank Kim Eng shows the unsold inventories of each developer in Singapore and reveals that unsold Executive Condominiums (ECs) are the biggest drag for some developers.

Hong Kong Land has the most number of unsold inventory with almost 2,000 empty units in its books. Roughly two-thirds of its unsodld units are ECs, while the rest are located in the OCR and a small number is located in the CCR.

Qingjian Realty was a close second, again due to the high number of unsold ECs in its inventory. MCC Land came in third due to unsold projects in the OCR and the RCR.

City Developments also has a high number of unsold ECs, along with a fair number of unsold units in the CCR, RCR and OCR. Kingsford's unsold units are all located in the OCR.

The three developers with the smallest number of unsold units are China Sonangol, SG-Johore Express and BBR, followed by luxury developers Ho Bee, Oxley and Fantasia.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
