Executive condo rents dropped 1.6% in January

Overall HDB rents slipped 0.5%.

Executive flats posted the largest rent decline in January as overall HDB rents continued to fall.

Data from SRX Property showed that EC flat rents declined 1.6% month-on-month, while overall HDB rents posted a decline of 0.5%.

Rents for HDB 4- and 5-room flats declined by 1.3% and 0.3% respectively. On the other hand, 3-room flats saw a pick-up in rents by 0.3%.

Rents dropped in both mature and non-mature estates last month. An estimated 1,651 HDB flats were rented in January 2015, representing a 4.4% increase from 1,581 units rented in December 2014.
