Gov’t to launch over 50,000 new flats by 2027
This will also include the opening of new residential areas across the island.
Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has announced the launch of over 50,000 new flats between 2025 and 2027.
According to his Facebook post, this will also include the opening of new residential areas across the island.
The Housing & Development Board (HDB) will launch approximately 19,600 homes this year across various projects. One of the new housing areas is the former Keppel Club golf course, set to launch in HDB’s October 2025 build-to-order (BTO) exercise.
The project will offer about 1,000 flats, ranging from 2-room Flexi to 4-room flats, including public rental housing.
The estate will feature stepped building heights from 19 to 46 storeys and be surrounded by green spaces.
Landscaping will include green corridors and terraced greenery, and create new habitats to attract and protect biodiversity.
The development will also include family-friendly amenities such as a preschool and a nature-themed playground.
In addition to the Keppel site, another BTO project will be launched in Toa Payoh Town (West) as part of the July 2025 BTO exercise.
About 740 flats will be offered, along with an eating house, shops, and a preschool.
