HDB completes final two pandemic-delayed projects
It is also on track to complete about 17,000 flats across 27 projects this year.
National Development Minister Desmond Lee has announced the completion of the final two pandemic-delayed projects by the Housing & Development Board (HDB).
These projects, Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) and Kempas Residences, were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic but are now ready for homeowners.
Since November 2024, keys have been progressively handed over to homeowners. With the completion of these two projects, HDB has finished all 92 pandemic-delayed housing projects, delivering over 75,800 flats over the past five years.
Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2), consisting of 1,179 units, had five blocks completed by December 2024, with the final block finished earlier this month after a 12-month delay. As of 15 January 2025, 657 households (59% of booked units) have received keys. The project faced delays due to pandemic disruptions and the replacement of the original contractor.
Meanwhile, Kempas Residences, with 583 units, completed its final block in mid-January 2025, six months later than planned. As of 15 January 2025, 37 households (7% of booked units) have collected keys, with the rest to follow soon.
In 2024, HDB completed 22 projects, including four without delays, namely Alkaff Breeze, Champions Bliss, Parc Glen @ Tengah, and Grove Spring @ Yishun. Two of these were shorter waiting time projects, with key collection in under three years.
Looking ahead, HDB is on track to complete about 17,000 flats across 27 projects in 2025. With the completion of all pandemic-delayed projects, there are currently no delayed projects among those under construction.
