HDB resale prices inch up as sales volume drops

Some 1,200 were resold last month.

Resale prices of public flats gained by 0.2% month-on-month in February, according to latest data released by SRX Property.

The increase in prices came on back of a 6.7% month-on-month drop in resale volume. Some 1,200 HDB resale flats were sold last month, compared to 1,286 units transacted in January.

The resale prices of HDB 3 Room and HDB 4 Room Flats increased by 0.2% and 0.8%, respectively. On the other hand, the resale prices of HDB 5 Room and Executive Flats decreased by 0.1% and 0.7%, respectively.

On a year-on-year basis, prices decreased by 0.6% while volumes gained 4.5%. Resale prices have declined by 10.9% since the peak in April 2013, while resale volume has dropped by 67.1% compared to its peak of 3,649 units in May 2010.
