Housing affordability, high cost of living top residents' gripes in 2015

COE prices are also a key grumble.

Singaporeans are least satisfied with the country's high cost of living, housing affordability, and COE prices.

A report by Blackbox Research revealed that Singaporeans are most dissatisfied with the government's performance on these three issues.

Only 40% of respondents are satisfied with the country's cost of living up 7% from 33% in January 2014.

The percentage of respondents who are satisfied with COE prices and housing affordability remained unchanged at 44% and 51%, respectively.

"Looking ahead, it is apparent that the Government has a balancing act that it will have to manage carefully. With the rising cost of living continuing to be by far the #1 concern of Singaporeans, the Prime Minister and his colleagues enter the country’s 50th anniversary with a new set of challenges on their plate," stated the report.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
