Mid-segment share of EC launches soared to 19% in January from 3% in December

There were no luxury segment launches last month.

For Jan, including ECs, the mass-market segment accounted for 81% of the launches while the mid-end segment accounted for remaining 19%.

According to OSK-DMG, this was bumped up from 3% in the previous month due to new project launches such as Marine Blue and City Gate by Capitaland and World Class Land respectively. There were no luxury segment launches in Jan 2015.

Developers launched 415 units (excl. EC) in Jan 15, up 683% MoM due to the reluctance to launch new units in the month of Dec (holiday season). In addition,
developers are starting to launch their new projects a month before Chinese New Year to capture some sales. Despite the significant increment on a month-to-month basis, the number of units launched by developers is still 24.4% lower YoY (Jan 14:549 units).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
