Private condo rentals down 0.5% in December 2017

The rental volume dropped 15.3% YoY to 3,188 units in 2017.

Private condo rentals dipped 0.5% YoY in December, the Singapore Real Exchange (SRX) revealed.

According to flash data, in individual sectors, Core Central Region (CCR) posted a 0.1% YoY increase, whilst those in Rest of Central Region (RCR) and Outside Central Region (OCR) posted a 0.4% and 1.1% decrease, respectively.

Rental volume fell 15.3% YoY from 3,762 units in 2016 to 3,188 units in 2017.

HDB rentals also fell 3.5% YoY and 0.6% YoY. Rental volume dropped 21.2% YoY to 1,414 units.

Rents of mature estates slipped 2.7%, whilst those of non-mature estates fell 4.4%.
