Carousell offers in-app vehicle insurance in AXA tie-up

App users will be able to purchase insurance plans in under five minutes.

Online marketplace Carousell has partnered with AXA Insurance to provide car buyers a simpler option to shop for second-hand car and motorcycle insurance coverage through Carousell’s app, an announcement revealed.

Users can receive instantaneous quotes for a range of car insurance plans without having to leave the app, the firms highlighted in a joint statement. After selecting their preferred insurance policy, users can purchase it directly on the app and will be able to typically obtain the policy documents under five minutes.

“Offering insurance directly to car buyers in partnership with AXA makes buying a car even more convenient on Carousell, and will drive momentum to our growing marketplace for second-hand cars and motorcycles,” Carousell’s head of autos Sanjay Shivkumar said in a statement.

Carousell features more than 10,000 listings in the cars category globally and connects sellers and buyers directly through its mobile interface. Carousell users can expect to use the insurance quote service in the coming weeks.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
