F&B sales up 10.4% in January
It was driven by the Chinese New Year.
Food & Beverage (F&B) sales rose 10.4% year-on-year in January 2025, up from 0.8% in December 2024, according to data from Singstat.
The increase was due to Chinese New Year falling in January this year instead of February.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, F&B sales grew 4.9%.
Total sales were estimated at $1.1b, with online sales making up 23.6%, down from 24.9% in December.
Food caterers saw the highest growth at 31.8%, whilst restaurants and fast food outlets rose 17.7% and 11.2%, respectively.
Meanwhile, cafes, food courts & other eating places dropped 2.2%.
