Metro Holdings shifts to brand management for int'l labels in Grand Brands Asia launch

The SGX-listed group is moving into brand management to bring new international concepts to Singapore.

Metro Holdings Limited, an SGX-listed property and retail group, has launched Grand Brands Asia Pte Ltd, a brand management company focused on international retail brands, according to a company announcement.

The new entity will operate under Metro Lifestyle Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Holdings.

Grand Brands Asia will manage a portfolio of international retail brands and introduce new brand concepts to Singapore, following an agreement with EUT Solutions Pte Ltd, a wholesaler and retailer of international fashion brands, the statement said.

Metro Holdings, listed on the SGX Main Board since 1973, operates in two segments, namely property investment and development, and retail.

Its property arm owns and manages retail and office properties in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, as well as assets in Singapore, Indonesia, the UK, and Australia.

The retail division operates Metro’s two department stores in Singapore, and Grand Brands Asia will expand the company’s retail operations in the local market.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
