Over 7 out of 10 shoppers demand free shipping from online retailers: report

Free delivery is crucial to driving sales.

Free shipping is critical for over 7 out of 10 online shoppers in Singapore, a survey by UPS revealed today.

The survey showed that most shoppers will go to great lengths to get free shipping, including adding more purchases for their cart, searching online for promo codes and joining loyalty programs.

Across Asia, Singapore has the highest percentage of online shoppers at 52% who stated that having the ability to select an alternate and more convenient delivery location is an important factor when checking out online.

The survey also showed that 63% of Singaporean online shoppers review a retailer’s return policy before making a purchase, tied with China as the highest in Asia Pacific.

When dissatisfied, 50% of shoppers in Singapore are likely to email a company for a refund or to complain if they are dissatisfied with a purchase, the highest percentage in Asia
