Asian Pay TV Trust’s profit after tax falls 47.1% YoY in Q1

Total revenue decreased by 6.5% YoY to $59.4m.

Asian Pay Television Trust has reported a 47.1% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its net profit for the first quarter, due to lower exchange rates and higher operating expenses.

Total revenue decreased by 6.5% YoY to $59.4m due to a 10.8% drop in basic cable TV revenue, which fell to $38.6m.

Broadband revenue rose to $18m, whilst premium digital TV revenue declined to $2.4m.

Earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and amortisation stood at $33.3m, marking a 12.8% YoY decrease.
