Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority plans to auction additional mobile spectrum this year as it seeks to lure a new entrant to compete with the city’s three existing providers. The IDA will allocate a total of 235 megahertz of spectrum in two stages, the first only open to pre-qualified bidders that do not currently operate a nationwide mobile network in Singapore, it said in a press statement released Thursday. Launched for sale on 29 December 2015 under the confirmed list of the second half 2015 Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme, the approximately 198,302 sq ft site has a maximum gross floor area (GFA) of about 555,267 sq ft.
