Large companies in Singapore do not take digital disruption seriously

Not even a half is actively trying to disrupt their competitors.

According to Telstra's recent research report, large companies are poised to digitally disrupt but appears to not be taking digital disruption seriously.

69% of individuals surveyed say that their companies are exposed to digital disruption. This is below average (73%).

Interestingly, only 8% of respondents felt that their organisation was very exposed to digital disruption. This was significantly lower than average (20%).

Furthermore, only 49% of respondents consider their organisations as actively trying to disrupt their competitors and/or the market by digitising their businesses. This was the lowest of all countries with the average at 60%.

Lastly, 56% of respondents believe that their companies will be more exposed to a competitive market in two years’ time due to several factors.

First, they believe that their existing competitors are more competitive (59%).

Secondly, partners and customers are becoming their competitors (56%)

Lastly, start-ups and new entrants are affecting their market (54%)
