Singtel and Qualcomm complete POC for AI-enabled home wifi gateway

The telco plans to commercialise the gateway.

Singtel and Qualcomm Technologies completed a Proof of Concept (POC) for an AI-enabled Home WiFi Gateway, which identifies and prioritises network traffic based on application type.

The POC tested several applications across various devices to determine the improved experience through the AI-powered Smart Traffic Classifier.

The Smart Traffic Classifier can deliver up to 50% average latency reduction for applications such as gaming, streaming, and voice and video calls in congested environments.

After the POC, Singtel will commercialise the gateway in Singapore and expand it across markets within the Singtel group.
