COE prices in 3 out of 5 car groups down marginally

Does this signal a sustainable downtrend in succeeding months?

Premiums for cars ended mixed yesterday (June 6) in the first bidding exercise since government's announcement of several measures to curb COE suppy.

Prices for certificate of entitlement (COE) for commercial vehicles fell the most by 4.5% to $54,522 from  $57,106 in May 23. 

This was followed by  premiums for big cars at $83,000, down by 2.6% from the previous month's $85,216.

Cars of the open category meawhile retreated by 1.15% to $85,889 from $86,889.
