COE prices for small cars dropped to $36,890

It registered the biggest drop amongst all vehicle categories.

COE prices for January decreased at the last bidding, with small cars (up to 1600cc and 97kW) down from $41,400 to $36,890, according to the latest results from the Land Transport Authority.

Further, premium for big cars (above 1600cc or 97kW) dropped from $45,289 to $42,661, whilst that for commercial vehicles decreased from $40,101 to $39,000. Open COEs, which is for any vehicle type except motorcycles, ended at $44,000 from $47,390.

Motorcycle was the only category that had a COE increase, which went from $7,701 to $8,001.
