COE quota to rise 1.5% in November-to-January period

Deregistrations, amongst others, may contribute to the 18,984 COEs available during the period.

The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota from November 2025 to January 2026 will be 18,984, representing a 1.5% rise in overall supply compared to the August-to-October 2025 period, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced.

Twenty-five percent of the COEs for this period consist of replacement COEs from vehicles deregistered from October 2024 to September 2025.

The supply includes provision for 0.25% per annum growth for Category C based on the Category C vehicle population as of 31 December 2024, the LTA added.

It also includes adjustments for changes in the taxi population, expired temporary COEs, the early turnover scheme for commercial vehicles, redistribution from deregistrations for Categories A, B, and D, and injection of additional COEs, the agency added.

For the period, 7,662 COEs will be available for Category A vehicles, 4,783 for Category B, 1,692 for Category C, 3,198 for Category D, and 1,649 for Category E.

COE supply for Category A is expected to peak and even out supply in this and the coming quarters, the LTA said.

Bidding under this quota will start on 3 November 2025.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
