ComfortDelGro JV wins contract to operate Stockholm Metro

The contract has a term of 11 years.

The Stockholm Public Transport Administration (Trafikförvaltningen) awarded Connecting Stockholm, a joint venture of SGX-listed ComfortDelGro and Go-Ahead the contract to operate and maintain the Stockholm Metro.

This marks ComfortDelGro's first rail contract in Sweden and its largest rail passenger operation outside of Singapore.

The contract will be for a term of 11 years with operations to start in May 2025.

Connecting Stockholm will manage Stockholm Metro’s 7 lines including 100 stations, 6 depots, and 107 km track.

ComfortDelGro will be responsible for the subway’s customer service, planning and delivery of rail services, and fleet, station, and depot facility maintenance.

The contract also extends Connecting Stockholm to support Trafikförvaltningen to expand the Stockholm Metro in the future.

“We’re delighted to be offered the opportunity to serve the people of Stockholm. This has been a well-run tender process by Trafikförvaltningen and, together with ComfortDelGro, we look forward to working in partnership to deliver our plans over the next 11 years,” Cheng Siak Kian, ComfortDelGro Managing Director and Group CEO said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
