ComfortDelGro to launch driverless shuttle service in Punggol by 2026

It will use advanced sensors such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras.

ComfortDelGro will roll out an autonomous shuttle service in Punggol in early 2026, expanding its driverless transport offerings in partnership with global AV technology firm Pony.ai.

Residents will be able to book rides through the ComfortDelGro Zig app.

The shuttles will run on fixed routes linking residential estates, transport hubs, and community facilities to complement existing public transport.

ComfortDelGro said the vehicles will use advanced sensors such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras, along with high-precision mapping, to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Each shuttle will undergo extensive testing and will include safety features such as obstacle detection and emergency braking.

Trained safety operators will be on board during the initial phase.

Group CEO SK Cheng said the launch builds on the company’s AV trials in Guangzhou and Singapore and will create new career opportunities as autonomous transport expands.
