ComfortDelGro receives licence to conduct public road trials for AV shuttles

This covers testing of five autonomous shuttles in Punggol in coming months.

ComfortDelGro received approval from the Land Transport Authority to begin public road trials of its autonomous-vehicle shuttles after the first batch of vehicles completed Milestone 1 (M1) assessments by the Centre of Testing & Research of Autonomous Vehicles (CETRAN), according to a press release.

Group CEO Cheng Siak Kian said the successful M1 assessment fulfilled the standards required for the next phase of autonomous-vehicle testing.

ComfortDelGro said it plans to make AV rides available in 2026 through its CDG Zig app under a “Zig Driverless” option.

The company will start trials of five seven-seater AV shuttles in the Punggol district.
