Independent panel formed to improve rail reliability

The panel will offer technical advice and share best practices to boost rail reliability.

The Rail Reliability Taskforce has formed a five-member Independent Advisory Panel (IAP) to offer technical advice and expert input aimed at improving the reliability of the country’s rail network.

The panel comprises experienced figures from the global rail industry, with backgrounds spanning operations, maintenance, and system management.

Its members include Ir Dr Tony Lee Kar Yun, who has experience in rolling stock, operations, and maintenance; Patrick Bauchart, a specialist in signalling and transport technology; Dr Cai Chang Jun and Professor Tsay Huel-Sheng, both experts in operations and maintenance; and Kon Shinichiro, who focuses on power supply systems.

The panel will review the Taskforce’s findings, give technical feedback, and share global best practices to help shape measures that strengthen rail performance and reliability.
