Punggol Coast station to open in December

This extends the NEL to a total of 17 stations along its 22-kilometre route.

Punggol Coast station on the North East Line (NEL) will begin passenger service at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, 10 December 2024.

The new terminal station extends the NEL to a total of 17 stations along its 22-kilometre route.

Located in the Punggol Digital District, the station will improve rail connectivity to the JTC Business Park and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), serving over 28,000 employees and 12,000 students, as well as the upcoming Punggol Coast Mall.

More than 200,000 households will be within a 10-minute walk of the station, leading to shorter travel times.

The construction began in 2018 and the station was handed over to SBS Transit in August 2024 for operational testing.

Punggol Coast station will have two entrances: one on New Punggol Road and the other in the PDD. The station will also feature over 300 bicycle parking spots and is within walking distance of a bus interchange.

Designed by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Punggol Coast station is pursuing Green Mark Certification for its energy-efficient design, which includes LED lighting and a hybrid cooling system.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
