Singapore to redeploy over 100 workers after HSR project suspension

But the project company will continue to work on existing contracts and tenders.

Over 100 specialists working on the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High Speed Rail (HSR) will be redeployed following the agreement between Singapore and Malaysia to suspend the project, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) revealed.

In a press query, LTA said these specialists are part of an infrastructure company called SG HSR, which was formed by Singapore in 2017.

“During the period of suspension, SG HSR staff will be offered alternative job roles in LTA. We are confident that they will continue to contribute effectively in the LTA family in the roles that we take up during this suspension period,” LTA added.

Moreover, SG HSR will still be working with government agencies and external stakeholders to manage the suspension of the project. It will still work on following up on existing contracts and ongoing tenders.

“Subsequently, SG HSR’s work is expected to be scaled down until the HSR project resumes,” LTA concluded.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
