SingPost launches mail trial to reach 80% of residents faster

The program will enable city-state residents to post and return mail from a mailbox.

Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) launched SingPost@MyBlock, a posting box trial that will allow residents to post and return mail at 21,000 letterbox nests around the city-state.

Through the trial, which runs from 19 October to the end-December , the mail carrier aims that 80% of Singapore's population can reach a SingPost touchpoint within 10 minutes or less.

Through SingPost@MyBlock, residents can post from and return mail at their residential letterbox nest, with dedicated slots or additional boxes to help them send mail easily within their own estate.

The trial will begin across 27 housing blocks in the Punggol Northshore District.

In the next few weeks, the trial will be staged at 226 blocks across five districts which include Punggol, Marine Parade, Upper Boon Keng, Bukit Panjang and Bukit Batok, the mail carrier said.

For eCommerce, SingPost also announced the integration of Pick Network Pte Ltd (Pick)'s locker network of 1,084 into its last-mile infrastructure and 24/7 access for parcel collection.

SingPost will deliver mails and parcels to Pick Lockers, which are situated in HDB estates, community centres, and transport hubs.

This integration will benefit eCommerce platform customers and providers such as Lazada, which will be able to deliver to a Pick Locker location chosen by a customer, the carrier said.

The integration is officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.

The mail carrier is also able to distribute across the city-state through the POPStop drop-off service, which records an average of 180,000 parcel drop-offs per month, and partnerships with logistics firms DHL Express and FedEx.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
