ST Engineering inks MOU with MSI Global to develop rail projects

The agreement focuses on fostering joint participation and collaboration in rail projects worldwide.

ST Engineering announced today that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MSI Global, a subsidiary of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore.

The partnership aims to provide rail electronics solutions and services for rail projects overseas. ST Engineering will include its technical and domain expertise in advanced Smart Metro solutions, while MSI Global will provide its ticketing and payment systems software solutions. Both will also develop joint go-to-market activities in order to facilitate the growth of Singapore’s rail global footprint.

Before the agreement, ST Engineering had executed over 100 rail electronics projects in an estimated 48 cities worldwide, while MSI Global has implemented in the region of 154 overseas projects in at least 20 countries.

Chew Men Leong, President, Urban Solutions, ST Engineering, had said that this partnership was due to the opportunities that their expertise would bring to international markets.

“Smart Mobility is a key focus area in our Smart City growth strategy, and the MOU with MSI Global serves as another platform for us to extend our Smart Mobility expertise to new international markets. The complementary capabilities and synergies that both organisations intend to forge will further strengthen our combined rail offerings and position us as a strong contender amongst global competition. MSI Global is our long-time partner, and we look forward to even closer collaboration to bring Singapore’s rail expertise to new shores, and catalyse growth opportunities for global success,” he said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
