Tribecar launches new EV rental fleet with reportedly repurposed BlueSG cars

The new cars can be rented longer between three months to two years.

Car-sharing firm Tribecar has reportedly repurposed former BlueSG electric vehicles for its new EV vehicle fleet, following BlueSG’s announcement to pause its operations.

News reports indicate that the new compact EV vehicles Tribecar introduced under the name “Le Blu Frenchy” are connected to BlueSG’s fleet, which was recently taken off the road ahead of a planned relaunch in 2026.

The new EV fleet has a rental period of at least 3 months to 2 years, starting at $799 a month.

Executives from BlueSG have confirmed that discussions are underway for a ‘potential sale’ of vehicles to Tribecar, although the exact details — including the number of cars and models involved — have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, public speculation suggests the new fleet may in fact be former BlueSG cars that have been repainted and repurposed.
