Singapore businesses lead ASEAN in sustainability initiative growth
26% of ASEAN organisations increased their sustainability efforts in 2024 than last year.
Singapore businesses, alongside Thailand, led ASEAN sustainability efforts, with 32% reporting YoY improvements in sustainability initiatives.
In its report, Kyndryl noted that 26% of organisations in the region have increased their sustainability efforts over the past year.
The report also revealed only 28% of ASEAN businesses fully use technology for sustainability, trailing the 40% global average, despite the majority prioritising it in their strategy.
Meanwhile, only 22% of organisations see technology’s dual role in cutting carbon footprints and advancing sustainability, with most focusing on internal impacts like server virtualization.
In addition, whilst 75% of businesses report that sustainability goals and initiatives are incorporated into existing reporting processes, only 4% fully leverage data for strategic planning and decision-making.
Moreover, 37% believe AI will significantly impact their sustainability goals, yet 54% of organizations face challenges in measuring the environmental impact of AI.
