Changi nabs seventh spot in global airport rankings

It lags behind Hamad International Airport and Tokyo International Airport.

Singapore’s Changi Airport has been identified as the 7th best airport in the world with a score of 8.27 out of 10, according to a study by air passenger rights company AirHelp.

The airport score is calculated based on on-time performance, service quality and food and shops, whereas Changi Airport got 7.8, 9.2 and 8.7 points on these areas, respectively.

Globally, the three best airports are Hamad International Airport (8.39) in Qatar, Tokyo International Airport (8.39) in Japan and Athens International Airport (8.38) in Greece.

On an Asia-wide basis, the airport would be recognised as 3rd best behind Hamad International Airport and Tokyo International Airport.

On the other hand, AirHelp also released its top global airlines rankings where Singapore Airlines placed 13th with a 7.71 score. The study assessed airlines based on on-time performance, service quality and its claim processing efficiency. On these areas, SIA got 8.0, 8.7 and 6.4 respectively.

Qatar Airways holds the recognition as the world’s top airline with a total score of 8.23, followed by American Airlines and Aeromexico which both have 8.07 points.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
