SIA Group hits record 3.8 million passengers in December

Cargo carriage also increased in December 2025, thanks to year-end demand.

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group carried 3.8 million passengers in December 2025, reflecting a 4.8% increase from last year on the back of the year-end peak travel demand.

In a statement, the group said this has set a new monthly record for the group. This brings the total passenger carriage for 2025 to 41.6 million, 6.6% higher than the previous year.

Passenger traffic for the group’s two carriers increased by 1.9% to reach 14.156 billion in December 2025, compared to a year ago, with passenger capacity increasing 2.6%

Passenger load factor (PLF) came in at 87.9% in December 2025. SIA logged a PLF of 87.6%, slightly down 0.8% from last year, as the Europe and South West Pacific routes record slight decreases. Meanwhile, Scoot recorded 89.1%, down 0.1% from last year, as East Asia and West Asia routes recorded slightly lower load factors during the period.

Cargo carriage rose 7.4% in December 2025, with increased freighter activity supported by traditional year-end demand. Cargo loads grew by 4.5%, outpacing the 1.6% expansion in cargo capacity.

As a result, the cargo load factor was 1.6 percentage points higher at 55.2%.

During the month, Scoot launched passenger services to Labuan Bajo and Semarang in Indonesia, and Okinawa in Japan.

As of the end of December 2025, the group’s passenger network covered 134 destinations in 37 countries and territories. SIA and Scoot each served 79 destinations. The cargo network comprised 138 destinations in 38 countries and territories.
