It dropped 20 spots in Asia's Top 1000 brands ranking.

Singapore Airlines has lost the battle for the best airline brand against Air Asia and Jetstar, according to Asia's Top 1000 brands report by Campaign Asia-Pacific and Nielsen.

SIA dropped 20 spots and bagged rank 136 this year, compared to rank 116 last year.

Budget carrier Air Asia climbed nine spots and was ranked 34th this year, while Jetstar moved down one spot and was ranked 119th.

AirAsia and Jetstar bagged the first and second spots in the Travel and Leisure category. SIA clinched fourth place, behind hotel operator Shangri-La.

Other airlines in the category included Cathay Pacific at rank 180, Thai Airways at rank 191, Jet Airways at rank 226 and Virgin at rank 229.

The study explored consumer attitudes in 13 markets: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Research relies on a total of 400 respondents in each market, except India and China where participants number 800 and 1,200 respectively.

Participants were asked about the best and second-best brand that came to their minds in each category.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
