Singapore offers 75 aviation fellowships under LACAC agreement

CAAS will conduct three training programmes in Latin America, focusing on aviation safety, security, air traffic services, and management.

Singapore will offer 75 fellowships to Latin American aviation professionals over the next three years as part of a renewed training agreement with the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC).

The enhanced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and LACAC, builds on a partnership that began in 1998.

It outlines plans for both in-Singapore and in-region training programmes to support capacity building in key aviation areas.

Under the agreement, CAAS will conduct three training programmes in Latin America, focusing on aviation safety, security, air traffic services, and management. These will complement the 75 fellowships awarded to professionals from LACAC’s 22 member states.

The updated MoU also introduces three new initiatives: scholarships for young professionals under the Singapore–ICAO Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) scheme, a run of the ICAO–SAA Directors-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Programme in Latin America, and high-level and staff exchange opportunities to promote bilateral engagement and leadership dialogue.
