Sembcorp subsidiary to build solar facilities in Vietnam industrial parks

The first project, a solar farm atop VSIP’s admin building, has already been completed.

Sembcorp Industries subsidiary Sembcorp Smart Energy Solutions Vietnam tied up with Becamex and Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) to develop rooftop solar facilities in their integrated townships and industrial parks in the country, according to a press release.

This will also involve renewable energy, waste-to-energy, wastewater treatment and water recycling projects brought to VSIP’s integrated townships and industrial parks as well as other Becamex-owned industrial parks and facilities.

The first completed project under this collaboration is a 51 kilowatt-peak rooftop solar farm atop the 12,000-sq ft VSIP administrative building in Binh Duong province, which marked its entry into the renewable energy sector in Vietnam.

The system is backed by a digital platform connected to Sembcorp’s Solar Performance Monitoring Centre in Singapore, which remotely monitors in real-time the output of every single string of rooftop solar systems installed across its solar projects in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
