Yongnam clinches SG Sports Hub contract
The steel contractor won a S$75 million sub-contract for the construction of the new 7-storey sports stadium
Located off Nicoll Highway, within the Kallang planning area, the key features of the new Stadium include a movable roof cover and a retractable grandstand.
In a statement, Yongnamn said that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yongnam Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd, will support the main contractor, Dragages Singapore Pte Ltd in the connection design of the structural steel members of the Stadium Roof Structure and the design of the Tertiary Steelworks.
According to the statement, the steel company will also be involved in the supply, fabrication, surface treatment, delivery and erection of structural steelworks for the dome-shaped roof structure which requires almost 8,500 tonnes of structural steel and another 1,480 tonnes for the Tertiary Steelworks.

This contract will further strengthen our solid track record in structural steelwork projects.”
Yongnam expects to complete the sub-contract works of the fixed roof structure in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the movable roof structure in the first quarter of 2013.
