Cosco strikes deal to build vessel worth US$130 mln

The jack-up vessel is expected to be delivered to a European shipowner in the second half of 2012.

COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Limited announced that its 51% owned subsidiary, COSCO Shipyard Group Co., Ltd., has signed a contract valued over US$130 million with a
European shipowner.

The jack-up vessel, especially designed for the purpose of installation of offshore wind turbines, will be designed to carry 8 to 10 wind turbines at a time to operate at water depths of up to 45 meters.
