Amtek Engineering names Chan Yew Weng as Group Chief Operating Officer

As Managing Director of the Plastics Operations, Mr. Chan was able to turn it around from a loss-making division to a profitable division.

The Board of Amtek Engineering announced the appointment of Chan Yew Weng as Group Chief Operating Officer, Plastics Division.Mr. Chan, currently the Managing Director of the Plastics Operations, will be promoted to Group Chief Operating Officer of the Plastics Division with effect from 1 July 2012. During his watch as Managing Director of the Plastics Operations, he turned it around from a loss-making division to a profitable division for the full year ended 30 June 2011. The Nominating Committee has considered Mr. Chan's contributions and experience, and has recommended his promotion to the Board for approval.

Mr. Chan, 43, is responsible for the overall operations for the Plastics Division, including business development, according to an Amtek Engineering report.

Mr Chan has been in Amtek Engineering Ltd since 2000.
