Avanade clinches top honours for Digital – Healthcare at SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024

The company played a pivotal role in transforming Singapore's healthcare system through a Microsoft technology implementation project under the Healthier SG initiative.

Avanade Asia Pte Ltd has been celebrated for its pioneering contributions to the digital healthcare sector, securing a notable win in the Digital - Healthcare category at the SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024.

This prestigious recognition comes on the heels of Avanade's successful implementation of a cornerstone project under the Singapore Government's Healthier SG initiative. Highlighted by the Prime Minister of Singapore during the National Day Rally in August 2023, Healthier SG marks a significant leap in redefining healthcare management and delivery for the nation.

Since the COVID-19 global pandemic, Singapore’s healthcare has experienced significant challenges – ranging from staff and skills shortage and healthcare professionals who are overworked, to increasing medical demand that places a significant strain on the system. According to Avanade, technologies such as generative AI have tremendous potential to alleviate some of these pressures and improve healthcare delivery and access for citizens.

Some of the positive impact which technologies such as generative AI can have on healthcare include: creating new ways of working so healthcare workers feel more empowered and enabled to do more without compromising on their wellbeing; promoting greater innovation focused on enhancing the patient experience; enabling more accurate diagnoses for earlier detection and treatment; identifying personalised and targeted medicine for effective treatment plans; supporting drug discovery development; and expediting clinical trials.

Generative AI can also help drive productivity in the healthcare industry. This is especially critical with the skills shortage we’re seeing in the healthcare industry. For example, the most significant potential for generative AI lies in freeing up limited clinical resources from mundane administrative tasks. Introducing AI to help with workflows and administrative tasks will mean increased productivity, improved quality of care, and an overall better workplace experience.

Complementing Avanade's purpose to make a genuine human impact by doing what matters, the award-winning technology implementation project has enabled a shift in Singapore’s healthcare approach towards more preventive and end-to-end care management as well as providing more personalised, precise care to each patient. The project is also a testament to the future of Singapore’s healthcare system that is collaborative, empowered, and driven by responsible innovation.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
