Certis Aviation Security earns Team of the Year title at the 2023 SBR Management Excellence Awards

Hosted by Singapore Business Review, the awards programme honours Singapore's most outstanding leaders for their hard work and dedication that have resulted in tangible contributions to their businesses. It also lauds employee engagements and COVID management initiatives that have made a positive impact on its workforce and customers.

In the face of unprecedented challenges brought on by the pandemic, CAS demonstrated remarkable resilience. They activated their Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and swiftly adapted to evolving circumstances, assuring the safety of high-risk flight arrivals, implementing new border screenings, and managing Quarantine Order issuance efficiently, even amidst uncertainty.

CAS goes beyond its primary responsibilities by placing a strong emphasis on employee well-being. Their comprehensive approach includes the provision of care packages, mental wellness programmes, and flexible work arrangements, ensuring the holistic welfare of their workforce. This commitment to employees stood out during a period when layoffs were widespread across industries, with CAS retaining all of its employees.

CAS' community engagement and commitment to corporate social responsibility are also notable. They actively engage philanthropic organisations, such as the Changi Foundation and TOUCH Community Services, contributing to the betterment of society. 

Gobinath Thangaveloo, Vice President, Aviation Security Unit at Changi Airport Group (Singapore), conveyed his deep appreciation for Certis Aviation Security's outstanding support and achievements throughout the challenging landscape shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for CAS’ exceptional support and remarkable achievements over the past two years, as we navigated through the challenges presented by COVID-19. From the initial period of low passenger volumes to the subsequent surge in passenger traffic post-COVID-19, the team exhibited remarkable strength and resilience,” he said.

“Despite the manpower constraints and rapid transitions between pandemic phases, they consistently delivered on their commitment to enhancing passenger experience whilst maintaining rigorous security standards. The partnership with CAG has been invaluable, and we look forward to further strengthening this collaboration as we continue to enhance and refine the Changi experience,” he added.

The award underscores CAS' forward-looking strategies, embracing digitalisation, data-driven decision-making, and a robust re-organisation approach. These efforts ensure they remain at the forefront of the industry. This recognition adds to CAS’ existing accolades, including the title of the World's Best Airport Security Provider, validating their exceptional contributions to aviation security.
