TMC Academy PTE LTD honoured at SBR National Business Awards 2025

The academy bagged an award for its successful global expansion that included three campuses in Uzbekistan.

TMC Academy PTE LTD, under the leadership of CEO Mr John Lee, was the recipient of the Educational Management honour at the SBR National Business Awards 2025—a recognition that reinforces its reputation as one of the leading educational institutions in Singapore.

TMC Academy extended its reach globally by opening three campuses in Uzbekistan since 2021, bringing high-quality education to Central Asia and tapping into the region’s educational demand.

The new campuses in Uzbekistan under the brand name of TMC Institute in Tashkent offer a global standard of education and promote cross-cultural exchange. TMC Academy’s strategic move introduced a curriculum focussed on entrepreneurship, leadership, and industry partnerships. These programmes ensure that students gain practical and real-world skills that will prepare them for their careers.

The initiative also strongly spotlights cultural exchange and provides opportunities for students and faculty from different backgrounds to collaborate and share knowledge. TMC Academy ultimately strengthened its global presence and impact in the education sector with these approaches. 

Amongst TMC Academy’s objectives behind the expansion is to enter the Central Asian market, a region that holds significant potential for educational growth. 

TMC Academy also strives to introduce Singaporean-quality education. By offering affordable courses with the same high standards in Singapore, TMC Academy makes quality education accessible to students in Uzbekistan and the surrounding region.

Moreover, TMC Institute in Tashkent offers courses with grants or scholarships so students in Central Asia can benefit from top-tier education without the higher costs of studying abroad.

TMC Academy Singapore established in 1981, has over 40 years of experience in the education sector, used its proven teaching methods in the new campuses to deliver exceptional results.

On the opening of the first campus in Uzbekistan in 2021, TMC Institute in Tashkent has successfully enrolled the first cohort of 400 students. By October 2023, the institute had expanded to three campuses in Uzbekistan. In October 2024, with new student enrolments, TMC Academy currently has approximately 10,500 students enrolled in its 4- to 5-year undergraduate programmes, highlighting the strong demand for its offerings.

Following the acquisition of additional land in 2024, construction is underway for the fourth campus, set for completion by October 2025. Our goal is to grow the student population to 20,000 by 2030.

The expansion has already gained several achievements. For one, during the state visit of the Uzbekistan President to Singapore in January 2023, TMC Academy’s Tashkent campus was named one of the official Uzbekistan Presidential Projects. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TMC Academy and the Uzbekistan Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation for the construction of the fourth campus in Tashkent.

TMC Academy’s expansion in Uzbekistan is the vision of Mr. John Lee (CEO) and is part of our broader strategy to enhance global education access.
