Bob Tan will retire as the Chairman of the Boards and Lui Chong Chee, a Non-Executive Independent Director, will succeed him on 22 April.

Bob Tan to retire as board chairman of CapitaLand Ascott Trust

Lui Chong Chee will succeed Tan on 22 April 2024.

Bob Tan is retiring as chairman of CapitaLand Ascott Trust Management and CapitaLand Ascott Business Trust Management, the managers of Capitaland Ascott Trust.

Lui Chong Chee will succeed Tan as chairman on 22 April.

In a statement, Tan extended his gratitude to securityholders and expressed confidence on the leadership skills of his successor and CEO Serena Teo.

“With Chong Chee’s deep experience and Serena’s continued leadership, I have full confidence that the team will bring CLAS to greater heights,” Tan said.

Incoming chairman Lui first joined CLAS as a non-executive independent director on 1 February 2024.

In addition to becoming chairman, Lui will also become chairman of the nominating and remuneration committee. 

He brings with him extensive financial, lodging, management and corporate leadership experience from major listed companies in Singapore.

Lui had also served as a director on the board of the then Ascott Residence Trust Management Limited from June 2008 to May 2010.
